BRRR.... 01/22/2022

Normally I need a nice hot cup of coffee to wake me up in the morning. Today I was hit with an arctic blast of cold air when I let my dogs out, that was enough to wake me up and send me running back to my warm bed! As you can imagine the dogs didn't want to be out there long either haha.

Seems to me that 2022 is hanging on tight to the trends of 2020 and 2021, when its -17 degrees out and over 1500 people are left without power. As if people really needed that today! I made it a point today to offer my home to anyone without power to have somewhere warm to hang while they waited for their power to be restored. The response to my kindness was incredible, but made me think. While it is kindness to offer your home to someone, isn't it what we SHOULD do? Why has basic human kindness become such a rare thing? Isn't life hard enough without all the extra unnecessary dividing of humanity?! Be kind to one another, love one another, this is what we are called to do. It really does take a village, if you don't have one, you can be a part of ours :)

While I would love nothing more than to stay in this warm cozy cocoon I've built around me, the boys have a basketball game today. A mothers job is never done right, like the old post office motto goes "neither snow, nor rain, nor heat...." in this case nor frigid below temps will keep me from my duties. Time to get ready to brave the cold to cheer on my boys!! Have a beautiful blessed day <3
